The journey of my Blog has been an insightful and full filling experience. I have enjoyed all of my free posts, and sharing my cute yellow friend Midas, that is Scout my cat, many have asked to see her. I have blogged before in other classes and each blog post was, honestly lame. They made me talk about what was on my mind and made me do it for a certain amount of time and it just felt like work, but with this blog, it felt fun. I really enjoyed posting pictures and having people ask for more. I loved talking to Roxy each week about her posts, and how many times they wouldn't post. It was overall very memorable. It never really felt like busy work, because, the work you put in was the work you graded yourself on at the end, and I think that's why it worked out so well for me.
I will say having to re-post the same link each week did get aggravating, and I never really understood why that had to take place, but I mean if that is my only complaint, I think that means this was a successful assignment, because usually I have more to say. In all seriousness though I could see myself using an assignment like this, or similar to this in my future classroom if I ever teach creative writing. It forces creative thinking, and creative writing. I think the experience of blogging once a week is also refreshing.
What have I learned about myself as a writer from this is, I'm really bad at naming things. I chose not to ever really name my blog posts because I never felt like the name I thought of was good enough to stick. Another thing I have learned is, this only works if websites allow posts to go through, I think this could have been handled differently if we posted once to a Google Docs form, and just went there to review blogs. That would save a lot of time and hassle, and since the blogs update real time, re-posting links isn't really needed. If i use this in a future classroom I think that would be one of the changes I make.
Overall, I enjoyed this. I didn't say this, but everyone should go look at Roxy's blog if you haven't she put a lot of work into making hers, way more than I did, and her posts are very creative. Here is the link: http://bitterbitere.blogspot.com/2016/11/professional-text.html
